09 Settings & Account
Click Settings in the left sidebar. The page opens with three tabs across the top: General, Video Download, Account. The middle one only appears once the "Video Download" experimental feature is switched on (see section 2 below), so normally you see two.
1. The General tab
| What you can set | Options | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Appearance | Follow System / Light / Dark | Follow System |
| Accent Color | Blue / Purple / Green / Pink / Orange | Blue |
| Interface Font | Preset cards plus a "Custom…" card that opens a picker over the fonts installed on this machine | System default |
| System Language | 20 languages (the interface text follows this one) | English |
| Use Touch ID to unlock | Switch | Off; the whole row is hidden on a machine that doesn't support it |
| Auto error reporting | Switch: sends the error details back to us when something breaks (the Enable button in the error popup is this switch) | Off |
| Storage Directory | Editable path plus "Browse" | deepvideo under your user folder |
On auto error reporting: switching it off only stops the automatic uploads. Clicking "Send Report" in the error dialog is still a report you submit yourself, and the two don't touch each other.
There is a single path setting. Models go to models/ and projects to users/<account>/projects/ underneath it, by rule — there is no separate setting for either. Changing the directory does not move existing data: projects and models already on disk stay where they are, and the new directory starts empty (models download again on first use).
Changing the directory asks once: move the existing data, or just switch. Move and switch copies projects, account data, models and custom voices into the new directory and removes them from the old one — it can be cancelled, and if it fails nothing is switched. Switch only leaves all of it where it is: the new directory starts empty and models download again on first use. Nothing is ever moved unless you choose it.
2. Experimental features: the switches for four project types and three tools
A block of switches at the bottom of the General tab, captioned "These features are still in development and may be unstable." All four ship switched off:
- Video Dub: switching it on adds "Video Dub" to the left sidebar — redub a video in another language while keeping the background music.
- Video Subtitle: switching it on adds "Video Subtitle" to the left sidebar — burns subtitles into the picture and does no translation.
- Subtitle Removal: switching it on adds the "Subtitle Removal" tool to the left sidebar, see 07 Download · Subtitle Removal · Watermark Removal.
- Video Download: switching it on adds the "Video Download" tool to the left sidebar, and only then does the settings page gain a "Video Download" tab.
Switch one off and its sidebar entry disappears; trying to open it directly sends you back to the project list. Projects you already created are not deleted because of it — switch it back on and they're all still there.
3. The Video Download tab
Four things to set here:
- Download Path: which folder the files land in.
- Proxy: an "Enable Proxy" switch plus two address fields, HTTP Proxy and SOCKS Proxy, for use on restricted networks.
- Cookies Source: three choices — "None", "From Browser" or "From File". Choose "From Browser" and you also pick which browser; choose "From File" and you supply the Cookies File Path.
- Quick Login: a browser window embedded in the page, five platforms each with its own "Login" / "Logout" button and a status reading "Logged in" or "Not logged in", plus an "Open Folder" button that shows you the folder holding the saved credentials.
Keep your expectations of Quick Login realistic: it only prepares the sign-in; whether a download works is still up to the platform. Logging out deletes the credentials the app stored, but ones you already exported to a file stay where they are — "Logging out deletes this platform's saved cookies and browser login. Cookie files are kept in the app's data folder." On some platforms (Douyin, for example) pulling the stream automatically from inside the app is refused today, and signing in is treated the same way; details in 07 Download · Subtitle Removal · Watermark Removal.
4. The Account tab
- Avatar: Change Avatar and Upload Custom Avatar. Supports PNG / JPG / WEBP, max 2 MB.
- Change Password: fill in Current Password, then New Password — the rule is printed under the field: "At least 8 chars, with upper, lower & digits". Afterwards you're asked to sign in again; that's a security measure, not a dropped session.
- Signing up and recovering your password: both need an email address. Click Send code and read the six-digit code from your mail (if it doesn't arrive, click Resend), and the sign-up page walks you through it step by step (Next). Signing up asks you to enter Confirm Password a second time; when you change a password the same field is called Confirm New Password, and the last click before submitting is Confirm Change. A code stays valid for five minutes.
The account itself is email + password: signing up requires the code sent to your email, and a forgotten password is reset the same way by email. You can still sign in with an unverified address, but you'll see "Your email is not verified. Some features may be limited." Log Out is not on the settings page — you'll find it in the avatar menu at the top right of the window.
Three links sit at the bottom of the settings page: About (version number, system info, memory / usage / uptime), Privacy Policy (which work happens locally, which content leaves your machine), and Terms of Service. Plans and quotas aren't here either; the subscription page is where the "upgrade" button takes you (it sits on the quota banner of the pipeline page, the editor, the preview page and Subtitle Removal), see 10 Plans & Quotas.
